Diane Richardson finished her round last Wednesday with mixed emotions.
Totalling only 19 points, with seven holes wiped, Di could easily have lamented the 100 plus shots she took out there on Wednesday. Well maybe all but one.
See just as you would expect from this silly game called Golf, amidst one of Di’s not so spectacular rounds, there was that one shot, that one moment that will keep her coming back.
And what a shot it was! 121 metres of perfection. A Hole in One on the 8th!
Unlike many Hole in One’s that players admit was a flukey shot, or they didn’t expect to be an Ace as it wasn’t one of their better shots, Di knew from the start she had hit a great shot.
“It never looked like missing”’ Di said reflecting on the shot. “It flew straight, bounced once and rolled straight into the hole.”
“It was a cracker shot. Not like all the other shots I had today, massing to a fabulous 19 points, of which five (points) came from my Hole in One!”
So, at least Di will have something good to remember from her round. And as we do with all our Hole in One achievements, Di will receive a shirt embroidered with the Hole in One details. Hopefully it will be a pleasant reminder of the good parts, and not the majority of the round.
