The Mount Coolum Golf Club annual Legacy Charity Golf Day was held on Saturday 12th September, with 196 Golfers braving the early wet conditions to play in the competition.
The Legacy Charity Golf Day is held each year to provide recognition to current and ex-defense force personnel. A Stroke event is run in conjunction with the day, with eligible ex-service men and women playing for the Felix Parry Cup (best gross score) and Diggers Cup (best Stableford).
KR Smith has won the Felix Parry Cup for the third straight year, carding a gross score round of 82. Brian Simpson won the Runner-Up award with his score of 86 (on countback). Kevin and Brian have had a good-natured duel over this trophy for the last decade, with one usually winning with the other as runner-up.
The Diggers Cup goes to Roger Johnston who scored 36 Stableford points, with Runner-Up David Lees with 35 points.

The Legacy Charity Day is also a great event that raises funds and awareness for Legacy. Again this year the day was a great success off the course as well, with proceeds generated totaling over $4,000. These funds will be donated to Legacy Sunshine Coast.
This event could not be a success without the generous support of local golfing and sporting Club’s, Ex-Service and Returned Services Clubs and organizations, local businesses and individuals who donate prizes, and their precious time, to the event.
The Mount Coolum Golf Club would like to thank all the Sponsor’s and Supporters of the day, including: Twin Waters Golf Club, Headland Golf Club, Maroochy River Golf Club, Caloundra Golf Club, Coolum Surf Club, Marcoola Surf Club, Alex Surf Club and Hotel Maroochydore/Star Liquor Maroochydore.
