A 3-hole play-off was required to determine the winner of the Club Championship today. In blustery conditions today, Zach Quirk (pictured on the right) and Stephan Scheepers (on the left) set off for the designated 3 hole play-off, after the two tied at 307 after 72 holes of regulation play.
It was Stephan Scheepers that emerged victorious, to capture a second MCGC Club Championship. Over the four rounds, Stephan shot 78.72.76.81, compared to Zach’s 75.77.76.79.
Adam Van Dorssalaer finished in a tie for fourth place overall, and took out the Junior Championship with a score of 317 – 12 ahead of Julian Stavrou. Craig James successfully retained his Veterans Championship with a four-round total of 326 – 11 clear of Bill Betts.
Four ultra-consistent rounds saw Seb Wilson (H’cap 14) take out the B Grade Championship by 8 strokes. Seb shot 88.88.86.87 – 349, with Craig Masters (14) in second place.
Despite a little blow-out in the last round, Jeff Williams (H’cap 23) closed out the C Grade Championship by a convincing 15 strokes. Peter Craig (22) was the best of the rest, after Jeff’s four rounds of 98.96.98.103 – 395.
