Captain’s November Newsletter

Dear Members,

Welcome to the Club Captain’s November Newsletter.

Rules

The Match Committee recently conducted a course review with Todd McNamee – Course Superintendent. The Committee discussed the two bridges on the 4th and 6th fairways in relation to part of the bridge structures being in the general area (rock walls). The Committee concluded that the rocks embedded in the general area as part of the bridge construction are by definition IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS.

As such, the player is able to take free relief in accordance with Rule 16.1b if their ball lies in the General Area.  If the ball lies in the Penalty Area, there is no free relief from the obstruction, regardless of whether the obstruction is in the Penalty Area or in the General Area.

 Course

  • Course Maintenance Works:

Todd has commenced the eradication of the Blue Couch. Members of the Committee inspected a sample section to ascertain if we needed to GUR the areas poisoned. It was concluded that at this stage the poisoned areas will be playable, but the committee and Todd will review as required.

  • Sand buckets:

It is the responsibility of all golfers to carry a bucket and repair their divots. Please keep a lookout for rogue divots and fill them in as well.
