Council Local Area Planning Survey

Sunshine Coast Council is currently seeking community feedback on its local area planning schemes that will guide development until 2041.  Feedback closes 31 March.

MCGC sits within the Coolum – Peregian local area planning scheme.  The scheme as proposed makes no allowance for enhanced recreational or sporting facilities.

MCGC has, for many years now, sought support from the State government and Council to expand our existing course.  Additional land, along with approvals for its development, is necessary to:

  • deliver practice facilities
  • increase community participation and deliver improved health outcomes for people of all ages
  • re-orientate our course to improve access
  • enhance financial sustainability
  • re-design the existing course layout
  • maintain our competitiveness
  • cater for future demand as the coast’s population grows

All MCGC members are asked to visit the ‘community engagement’ section of Council’s website and ‘Have Your Say’ before 31 March.  You will be asked to complete a short survey based on your postcode.  You will have an opportunity to provide further comment.  Please support the need for enhanced sporting / recreational facilities for our region, and particularly the expansion and further development of MCGC.

There is also an information session at Tickle Park on Tuesday 22nd March from 2:00 – 4:00 pm – it would be great to see a few Members there if possible.

Thank you for your support.
