The Mount Coolum 3-Day Teams Classic is a 2-person teams event played over three different formats – a 4BBB Stableford in the first round, a 2-Person Ambrose in the second round, and a 4-Ball Aggregate Stableford on the final day. This years event was contested by a field of 48 players, who enjoyed a very social event which included a tournament dinner on Monday night, and wine samples provided by tournament sponsors Andrew Peace Wines and The Wine Tradition.
Darryl and Col got off to a hot start, leading the event after the first round with a 4BBB score of 43pts. The best score on each day is awarded 10pts, second 9pts etc.
They followed this up with a respectable 6 points in the Ambrose, and then the second best score – an aggregate 63 stableford points in the final round.
In second place overall was another Mount Coolum pairing – Matt Green and Richard Close, with 23pts. Mick Ludeke and Jan Porter (both Mt Coolum) won the Mixed trophy, Greg Jeffrey (Mt Coolum) and Matt Perin (Gympie) won the Men’s event, while Elly Coper and Sam Brown (both Mt Coolum) were the best of the ladies pairings.
