Mount Coolum Member Bob Murphy is living a dream.
On Saturday 4th January in our Stableford competition, Bob scored his first ever Hole In One on our Par-3 10th hole.
“It still feels very surreal and I still think it was a dream” said Bob on Monday, two full days after his Ace.
Like most players scoring a Hole in One, Bob wasn’t sure he had actually drained the shot from the tee. And even though his playing partners, and the following group waiting on the tee, started cheering and hollering, Bob still approached the green checking for his ball sure it had rolled over the back or something.
“After playing my shot it was difficult to see the ball as it landed on the green due to the sun” Bob recalled. “I must admit that when travelling to the green I still looked for my ball. Once on the green I looked in the hole and there it was.”
“Every golfer playing the game hopes for a Hole in One, but reality is we never get it and when you do it seems like a dream. I feel very honoured and privileged to have achieved this. As I said it still feels very surreal.”
Bob will receive a Golf Shirt with his Hole in One achievement embroidered on the chest. Unless he uses this as his new pyjama’s, he will now have a waking reminder of his first Ace. Bob will also have his name added to our Hole in One Honour Board in the Clubhouse.
